“If you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them” holds a unique place in my heart

What is your favorite quote?

Among the countless beautiful quotes out there, one in particular speaks to me as someone who often gets tangled in anxious thoughts over the smallest things. The words of Buddhist scholar Shanti Deva, “If the problem can be solved, why worry? If the problem can not be solved, worrying will do you no good,” have become a gentle reminder that helps me step out of the endless loop of overthinking.

This quote from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama holds a unique place in my heart: “Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.” I carry these words with me as a guiding light, especially when I face choices that test the boundaries of my own moral compass.
