Welcome to my blog dedicated to Minority Health and Health Disparities. The main objective of this blog is to draw attention to inequities in health and create awareness through research, images, and narrations to promote health equity, minimize the gaps in achieving health equity, and reduce the morbidity and mortality rates of minorities. It covers the health and well-being of underserved and marginalized groups. This includes racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, LGBTQIA+ communities, immigrants and refugees, people with disabilities, and socio-economically challenged groups.
The World Health Organization defines health equity as “the absence of unfair, avoidable, or remediable differences among groups of people” and as “achieved when everyone can attain their full potential for health and well-being.”
It is central to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, ratified by 193 countries. Health equity is both a goal and a process, requiring continuous action and fair delivery.
Thank you for visiting and for being part of this community.
